Unal, 19, had loan spells with Genk and NAC Breda last season. A disappointing spell at Genk was followed by an impressive stint with the latter, scoring eight goals in 11 appearances.

The Turkish frontman joined City from Bursaspor in the summer of 2015 for £2m and heavily featured in their pre-season preparations last term.
FC Twente are also close to securing a deal of the same ilk for fellow City player Yaw Yeboah, who spent last season on loan with French outfit Lille, with just a work permit separating him from spending a season in Holland.

The news follows the departures of Brandon Barker and Kean Bryan, both of whom joined NAC Breda for 2016/17.
City have partnerships with both FC Twente and NAC Breda, so expect to see a number of academy players move to Holland before the end of the transfer window.
