Manchester City are interested in former Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to the Guardian.
Valdes is now a free agent, having been released by United following an unsuccessful stint at Old Trafford. The goalkeeper only made a handful of appearances for United and spent the latter part of last season on loan in Belgium with Standard Liege.
The 34-year old could be back in Manchester in soon though, this time in the blue half of the City – with Guardiola reportedly eyeing up a reunion with his former shotstopper.

The story was published by respected Spanish Football journalist Sid Lowe, who is not typically one to engage in the world of transfer gossip. Granted the story writes itself as Valdes spent many fruitful years under Guardiola at Barcelona.

That means a goalkeeper could be a priority for Guardiola and Valdes is certainly an option worth considering. He hasn’t played top-level football for a considerable period, but he is fully aware of Guardiola’s philosophy and training methods.

The Spaniard won La Liga multiple times under Guardiola at Barcelona, as well as winning the coveted Champions League on two occasions.
