Incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola won’t have to wait long to return to the Bayern Munich dugout it seems. Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail reports that Guardiola will return to the Allianz Arena as Manchester City manager on July 20th for a glamour friendly showdown with former employers Bayern, who will have new boss Carlo Ancelotti on the touchline.

City have come up against Bayern on a number of occasions in recent times – the latest of which came in the Champions League in November 2014, where Sergio Aguero scored a memorable hat-trick.
In pre-season, City played at the Allianz in Manuel Pellegrini’s first pre-season in charge as part of the 2013 Audi Cup. And even though it is a friendly, there’s plenty of intrigue for this one as Guardiola leads his current side against a club he revolutionised in his time there.
City have an impressive pre-season schedule, this time around as just days later China will host to the Manchester derby, with Guardiola set to do battle with long-time rival Jose Mourinho. They will also lock horns with Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal in preparing for the 2016/17 campaign.
It’s set to be an exciting summer for Manchester City, so much so that even the friendlies appear to be unmissable.
City are expected to officially announce the friendly on Monday.
