After being slumped out of the Champions League in Madrid earlier this Wednesday, Manuel Pellegrini now has two remaining games as Manchester City manager.
Currently three points behind Arsenal and four points in front of Manchester United, with the Reds having a game in hand on City, two wins from two for Manuel would see him leave City in a guaranteed Champions League spot for next season. On Sunday, City host rivals Arsenal at the Etihad in their penultimate game of the season and a win here would mean that the blues would move above them and into third on goal difference,
Clearly, the majority of fans can’t wait until this season is over, but there’s still plenty of work to do before that happens. With Arsenal pulling away and United breathing down our necks, Sunday is a must-win game for City.
Pellegrini will have to get his team selection spot on, but if he had the choice to nab some of the Arsenal lads from this season, here’s what I reckon his team would look like… (Our sister site Read Arsenal have also produced a Combined XI which you can find here:)
