Fernando broke the deadlock before De Bruyne signed his comeback with a goal. Aguero made it three not long later with a looping header. Kolarov sealed the deal at the death with a vicious strike across goal into the top corner.
This puts the Blues in good stead for their tie against PSG on Wednesday night, where they will hope to get a good result in Paris before the Parisians visit Manchester later in the month.
City looked refreshed after the international break and made a swift response from the dismal derby day defeat before the interval. It’s the sort of performance level City should have reached in various other games, but here’s hoping they can at least finish the season strongly.
