A report by The Times has revealed that Pep Guardiola is looking to sign Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when he officially begins life as the new Manchester City manager this summer.
According to the report by Henry Winter, Guardiola would like play Raheem Sterling on the left while Oxlade-Chamberlain would be positioned on the right.
Furthermore, Winter says that City may also look to sign Everton and England defender John Stones, in order to rebuild under the new Spanish manager.

Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly impressed Guardiola during Arsenal’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich back in March 2014. In the game that ended 1-1, Oxlade-Chamberlain showed Guardiola that he can not only play down the right, but he can be a force down the middle.
Guardiola will most likely be handed a great deal of money this summer in order to revamp a somewhat ageing City side and seeing how Arsenal have yet to pin down the England international, Man City think they can easily woo him into signing for them.

Recent reports from the Daily Mail suggest that it seems unlikely that Oxlade-Chamberlain would make a switch to another London club, which leaves the door wide open for a transfer to Manchester.
‘The Ox’ has made a total of 37 appearances for Arsenal and England this season, netting a total of three goals.
John Stones was a transfer target for Chelsea in the summer, but Everton refused to sell him. However, the England star has lost his place in Everton’s current starting line-up, so the Toffees may be tempted to cash in on him.
