Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is keen to be involved in today’s Capital One Cup final.
Iheanacho has been a revelation this season for City, hitting an impressive nine goals despite a mere seven starts. He has been a highly useful member of Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

The 19-year old’s first goal for the club was a winner against Crystal Palace in September, before the Nigerian sunk the Eagles again in the Capital One Cup with a goal and two assists.
He also got on the scoresheet in the next round against Hull and hopes to be involved in the final stage of the competition at Wembley.
He is quoted by Sky Sports as saying:
I am very happy to be in the Capital One Cup final. I am looking forward to it. If I start it is fine but if I am a substitute I will just wait to get a go. I am happy to be scoring a few goals this season. It has not been easy but I think the hard work has worked so I will continue working hard every day in training and games.
Manuel Pellegrini has placed his trust in the Nigerian, and did not sign another striker because of his faith in Iheanacho.

Kelechi aims to repay that belief by continuing to make an impact at City.
I am very happy to hear that from the boss and to not sign another striker. He believes in me, trusts in me, so I need to give him the best and give the team the best.
When paired with talisman Sergio Aguero, Iheanacho has shown plenty of promise and says he is relishing the chance to learn from such a skilled, well-rounded striker.

I am learning a lot from him. He is a good player, so watching him every day and playing alongside him is a great privilege. I am happy playing alongside him and think I am learning a lot and improving. It is a very good experience and I fit in that role playing alongside him.
