According to former Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp, Manchester City should have signed John Terry during the winter transfer window. Redknapp believes that the Chelsea and England veteran would have added stability and steel to the Cty defence which has leaked goals in the absence on Vincent Kompany.
If I had been at Man City I would have got on the phone on transfer deadline day and tried to take John Terry there, saying ‘if you’re not going to give him a contract we’ll have him.’

The 35-year-old Chelsea skipper will not be getting a new contract next year despite being the club’s captain and having played over 450 games for the London-based club. Redknapp went on to say “I think he could’ve won the league for them. They wouldn’t have got smashed up like they did against Leicester.”
Redknapp also believes that without a defender like Terry next year Guardiola will struggle to win silverware with Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola can go to Man City, but unless he gets some defenders in he ain’t going to win the Champions League, I don’t care who he is.

Despite Man City not signing Terry in the winter transfer window, John Terry could well follow in the footsteps of his former Chelsea team mate Frank Lampard and have a short stint at The Etihad. With Kompany struggling for fitness Terry would bring essential experience to the City backline.
