Manchester City have been handed a triple injury boost for the Boxing Day clash with Sunderland.
Manuel Pellegrini is confident that Vincent Kompany will be back in the side for the visit of Sunderland, while Pablo Zabaleta and Fernando could also be in line for a return.
Kompany has not played since the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa before the last international break and the Blues have struggled in his absence and are currently third in the table.
But Pellegrini has revealed that things are looking more promising on the injury front.

Speaking at today’s press conference, he said:
The injury situation is better. This week we are going to have the complete squad recovered, except Samir Nasri.
The City boss says he has not decided on the team to face Sunderland but is hopeful those returning from injury can play some part in the game.
We’ll see the starting XI on Saturday. With David, Kun, Vincent and Pablo we must see in the way they finish the game and the way they recover. For the moment I have not made the decision who will start.
