The endless talk and rumours linking Pep Guardiola with the manager’s job at Manchester City are undermining Manuel Pellegrini, according to former City full-back Danny Mills.
Speaking on talkSPORT, the former England international said that the club should clarify it’s position regarding the manager now as everybody being in the dark is unhelpful for all parties.
I almost think the club have to come out and make some sort of statement or at least tell Pellegrini the situation. Speculation was rife at the start of the season and Pellegrini has always been under pressure, and now we know Pep is definitely available.

The former Leeds man thinks that the talk of a new manager next season will be having a negative impact, not only on the Chilean himself but also on the players who will be unsure if the man they are listening to will even be at the club next season.
Manuel Pellegrini must feel a little undermined. The players will be thinking that the manager might not be with them for much longer and sometimes that can just drop 5% off your performance. That’s not what City need at the moment.
Man City go into Christmas in third place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Leicester City and four points behind second-placed Arsenal, and the pressure is now on Pellegrini’s men to improve and put in better performances than the ones they have displayed in recent away games.
