Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners against a Manchester City side who were buoyed by the return of star striker Sergio Aguero. Goals from Giroud and Walcott settled the affair for the Gunners. What was a positive opening half hour for City was hindered by an excellent, curling Walcott goal and then worsened for the Blues by a Giroud goal just before half-time.
