Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he hopes that Pep Guardiola will one day manage Manchester City once his time is up at the club.
The City boss was handed a contract extension in the summer, but talk of Guardiola coming in has continued to grow.
Many thought that Pellegrini would ride off into the sunset when his City duties are completed.
But the Chilean says he has unfinished business with the Blues. He does, however, admit that he wants to see Pep Guardiola manage in the Premier League – specifically with City.

Speaking with journalists from Sunday papers, Pellegrini said:
I am sure Pep Guardiola will work here some day. I even hope he will have the opportunity to work at Manchester City too, because I love this club and I care about its future, and I am sure he would do a good job. When is the future, I don’t know, but if the future turns out to be next year the most important thing for me to do is try to win the title again this season. To win two titles in three years would be quite an achievement, I think, and we were runners-up last season too. That was not our best season, I admit, but at least it was not a disaster.
As well as this, Pellegrini has revealed that he will not go into retirement once his contract with City is up. Instead, the 62-year old admitted his interest at continuing to manage in England.
Pellegrini said:
I enjoy England and enjoy the Premier League. I think it is the best league in the world at the moment and I hope I will continue here in England. First at City, and after in England.
