Not the greatest away day to be at, we just didn’t get going today and were well worth a defeat. The ratings show that, pretty scathing….
Manchester City Player ratings:
Joe Hart: Not much he could do for the first goal. Maybe could’ve come out faster for their second? Made a good save against Bojan to stop it going three-nil: 6.
Bacary Sagna: Had a difficult time against Bojan in the first half and was regularly bypassed, didn’t go forward at all: 5.
Martin Demichelis: Poor – he’s in serious decline. Couldn’t cope with Arnautovic and was caught sleeping for their first. Kept his line lazily too: 4.
Nicolas Otamendi: Not his best showing either. Stupidly booked in the first half and just isn’t comfortable next to Demichelis. Passing wasn’t all that either: 5.
Aleksandar Kolarov: Wasn’t as good as his previous showing and he was wasteful in the final third. Crossing wasn’t its best today: 5.
Fernando: Fluffed his slide-tackle in the build up to their first and was generally average. Immobile in the middle and shouldn’t have started. Went off injured too and left us with 10 men for a large part of the second half: 5.
Fernandinho: Wasn’t at his best. Didn’t do anything wrong as such but wasn’t his usual scrapping, direct self. Don’t know why he was taken off: 5.5
Raheem Sterling: Made a few nice runs but he dithers with it too much before making a decision: 5.5
David Silva: Didn’t really control the game at all. Wind got the better of him at times, was subbed for Navas: 5.
Kevin De Bruyne: Never seen so many missed placed passes. Didn’t seem to want it today and didn’t have that fight and determination we usually see from him: 5.
Wilfried Bony: His job is to hold it up and be a threat and he did neither well today. Fired one over in the first half and was subbed for Kelechi before he could do anything else: 5.
SUBS:
Kelechi Iheanacho: We’re gonna need a better third striker to be subbed on in games like these. He’s useful, tenacious and has a bright future but isn’t gonna help you win a league title or be the difference in a game like this, especially at his age. Lost the ball a lot too: 5.
Fabian Delph: Don’t know what he has to do to start a game, only one with any kind of fight. Came on and added a bit of energy and dynamism, also put in some good tackles. At least he cares, showed that at the end: 6.5
Jesus Navas: Meant to add impact and didn’t: 5.
