Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted that he would be keen on taking on the England captaincy on a permanent basis.
Hart is currently third in line behind Wayne Rooney and Gary Cahill but skippered the side in the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Spain on Friday.

And the former Shrewsbury Town youth product wants to experience more regularly and plans to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Gianluigi Buffon and Iker Casillas.
Casillas has done it enough. Buffon has done it enough. They are two special talents. It was a special moment. But I’ve got to be realistic. Wayne’s our captain, Gary’s our vice (captain), and they weren’t playing in Alicante.
Hart could not hide his pride at taking on the role but remains well-grounded and will continue to work hard with or without the armband.

I was very honoured to take the armband for the evening, but I know my position in the team and I try to maintain the same mentality whether I’m wearing the armband for my country or not.
It was a proud moment, but we need to stick together as a unit and whoever wears it we try and push for each other.
