The M.E.N report that Samir Nasri has been added to the long list of Manchester City players currently sidelined and out of action for the North-West club.
The Frenchmen allegedly suffered a hamstring injury during Manchester City’s 5-1 mauling of Bournemouth on Saturday, which is frustrating given that the 28-year-old had just returned from injury.
The ex-Marseille playmaker has had a mixed time of it this season and has found himself behind the mecurial Kevin De Bruyne and the effervescent Raheem Sterling, which has seen him fall even further down the pecking order at the Etihad.
City go into this week with two huge clashes ahead, first in the Champions League where Sevilla await and then into a hotly contested, top of the table derby match on Sunday.
With the likes of Sergio Agüero, David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov also sidelined these games will prove tough, as without them, games of this ilk have proved tricky in the past.
The impetus has particularly been put on Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony, who deputises Agüero in his absence, and on Jesus Navas who fills in for the injured David Silva – both players proved proved capable of such displays on Saturday as Bony managed a brace and Navas assisted and was a constant thorn in Bournemouth’s side throughout.

“Nasri had a problem with his hamstring,” Manuel Pellegrini said.
“I don’t know because I didn’t talk with the doctor yet but I think it will be very difficult for him” [to play on Wednesday]
The news of another injury begs the question: What are City’s medical team doing wrong for Manuel Pellegrini’s men? Another player has his comeback curtailed by a premature comeback, such as we have seen hitherto with the likes of Kompany, Agüero etc…
