Patrick Vieira has been touted as a possible successor to Dick Advocaat at Sunderland, with the Black Cats yet to win a league game this season.
Dutchman Advocaat made the decision to stay on after keeping the team up last season but has seen his side under-perform in the Premier League.
It has been reported that Sunderland could be looking for a new manager soon and City’s Patrick Vieira is one name who would likely be in the frame, according to the Mirror.
Vieira, a former City player, currently coaches City’s EDS side and has been a key figure in the club’s revamped youth system and facilities.

He guided the U21’s to the Premier League U21 International Cup last season but it is understood he would like to manager at senior level in the near future.
Coincidentally he was linked with both Sunderland and Newcastle in the summer but remained at City as the club continue to build talent for the future.

He has been tipped by many to eventually succeed Manuel Pellegrini at first-team level when his contract expires, but could look for first-team experience before applying for a job of that calibre.
And if Dick Advocaat does indeed go, then Sunderland may chooseVieira as the man to steer them away from relegation.
