Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he was never caught up in Manchester City’s fine start to the season, following the team’s recent blip.
The Blues have lost three out of the last four in all competitions, having previously started on fire with five wins out of five and no goals conceded.
A number of injuries to key players has halted City’s progress but the Chilean boss admitted that contrary to the opinions of some sections of pundits, journalists and fans alike, he did not expect the winning run to go on forever.
“We never talked that we are invincible,” Pellegrini is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

The famous Arsenal side from the 2003/04 season is the only team to go an entire season without defeat, while Mourinho’s first season at Chelsea only featured a single loss.
But Pellegrini has often spoke about the strength of the Premier League and believes it’s unpredictable nature makes it a tough competition.
“We know that the Premier League is always close games and very difficult. Anyone can beat another team. We must continue working, we have 15 points, we try to get a victory in the next game.” He added.

City were on the wrong end of a 4-1 drubbing at Spurs on Saturday and hope to get back on track with a trip to Monchengladbach in the Champions League on Wednesday.
