We’re having a bit of a wobble aren’t we? Two losses in a row in the Premier League and in both performances there has been a lack of conviction and big players have badly gone missing.
Player ratings below:
Willy Caballero: Made a wonder save in the first half but was at fault for the second Spurs goal and his kicking was fairly poor. Don’t know why Hart wasn’t risked: 5.
Bacary Sagna: Won a lot of aerial duels but had a tough time getting forward today as Spurs pressed high: 5.5
Nicolas Otamendi: Despite a wild swing at the ball which let Kane through, I thought the Argentine tackled well, won high balls and swept up well behind his compatriot Demichelis: 7.
Martin Demichelis: Looked steady in the first half but couldn’t cope with the second half Spurs onslaught: 5.5.
Aleksandar Kolarov: Poor game – him and Sterling just didn’t click and too many times he tried to take a man on: 5
Fernandinho: I say it all the time but he was consistent and tackled well. Drove us forward at times but was hauled off just before 70′: 6.
Fernando: Had a very good first half and won everything whilst also setting our more attacking players forward with nice passes. Anonymous second half, like most: 6.
Kevin de Bruyne: Excellent first half capped off nicely with his third in three but when he was really needed in the second half he failed to get into the game and went missing: 6.
Yaya Toure: Nice assist for our first goal but ultimately looked lethargic and didn’t do enough for us in the middle of our attack. Too many passes went astray and to make matters worse he was taken off with a suspected hamstring injury: 5.5
Raheem Sterling: Nice effort in the first half but was beyond tragic in the second half as he lost the ball on too many occasions and didn’t link up with Kolarov as he couldn’t weight his passes properly- needs to fix up. Having been in attendance, I noticed large sections of our support on his back- hope that doesn’t continue, he needs his confidence back : 5.
Sergio Aguero: Bereft of words. Did he even play? Really worrying from our little Argentine who didn’t get into the game at all – hope he steps it up soon: 5.
