Current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has agreed to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract to succeed Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City head coach, according to beIN Sports.
Both Guardiola and Pellegrini’s contracts expire in the summer of 2016 and that is when the agreement will be implemented.
The Chilean won the Premier League and the Capital One Cup during his first season in England. However, a lacklustre 2014/15 left the club without any silverware and increased the speculation concerning his future. During City’s mid-season demise, major bookmakers cut the odds on Guardiola becoming Manchester City manager to as short as 1/4, with the pressure also mounting on him in Germany following premature exits in the Champions League and the DFB-Pokal and a breakdown in communication between him and the board.

beIN Sports also revealed that Guardiola had a ‘verbal agreement‘ with Manchester City to takeover this summer, but it is understood that the highly-rated manager made a u-turn on his decision. Although, if beIN Sports are to be believed, the former Barcelona boss will join the dethroned Premier League champions next summer.
The Qatari-based sports channel announced that the deal was in place via their Twitter account.
