According to Di Marzio, Roma Sporting Director Walter Sabatini was in Manchester this evening to hold a meeting over the potential transfer of Edin Dzeko.
Dzeko has been heavily linked with a move away and though there have previously been comments from his agent suggesting that he was happy at City, talk of a move to Roma has intensified and it now seems that transfer is nearing ever closer.
It had been reported that the Giallorossi were only prepared to offer a transfer fee that was below what City wanted. After all, City did fork out £27m for the Bosnian in 2011 and would want to collect a considerable sum for someone who has scored a number of vital goals for the club.
City are likely to continue playing with a lone striker next season and with the irresistible form of Aguero and the signing of Wilfried Bony, Dzeko has found himself pushed down the pecking order.
Roma have expressed an interest and now their main man for transfers has took negotiations to the next level. He is understood to have flew from Munich Airport to Manchester and hopes to strike a deal before they join City in Australia, with the two sides locking horns on 21 July.
Is Dzeko past his sell-by date? Should he be moved on? Let us know on twitter @TheMaineBlues.
