The time has come – fans of Manchester City – next season’s home kit has finally been unveiled, as Ivorian striker Wilfried Bony poses in the new strip and it’s ‘built for brilliance’.
Fans at the Etihad have been intensely waiting for the new kit to be revealed after photos were spread on social media speculating about what the shirt would look like. Nike’s light-blue outfit contains a white stripe covering each hip-side and it fashions a purified collar too. The traditional pure white shorts have been kept, along with the sky-blue socks that City fans are used to seeing at the Sportscity campus. The goalkeeping kit has changed from a solid green to a solid purple – the same colour as City’s alternate kit from last season.
It has also been publicized that Nike have used recycled materials to make 2015/16 strips for various different teams. Each shirt is made using recycled polyester and an average of 18 recycled bottles of water where used to make this design come to life.
It looks likely that the women’s team will debut the kit as they are already in the middle of a season.
The home top is now available to pre-order from the official MCFC club shop and it will be available in stores from 10th July.
What do you make of the kit? Is it one of the best to come from Nike? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or tweet us @TheMaineBlues.
