UPDATE: Sky Italia are reporting that City will accept a £14.2 million offer from Roma for Dzeko after the Bosnian reportedly agreed personal terms.
Edin Dzeko has reached an agreement to join Roma says Gianluca Di Marzio, but the Italian side still need to agree a fee with Manchester City before the Bosnian striker can complete the move to Serie A, ending a four-and-a-half year association with The Blues.
Roma have been the side most heavily linked with a move for Dzeko this summer, after the former Wolfsburg man suffered a poor campaign in Manchester last season, which led to speculation he could be looking for a move away. This has been denied, but now it looks like he could be on his way anyway.
The 29-year-old has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Roma, although it does see him take a wage cut according to Di Marzio. He’s currently on around £75,000 per week at City, although if he makes the move to the Serie A club that’s likely to drop to around £65,000.
Of course, the club and player agreeing a deal means nothing unless the two teams can agree a fee, and they could be set to do this in the coming days. There have been rumours that Roma’s Ljajic could be part of the deal to take Dzeko to Italy’s capital, but this seems somewhat unlikely.
