Reported City target Jack Wilshere is thought to be considering his Arsenal future after concerns on how much gametime he’ll get at The Emirates next season say The Daily Star, with a lot of competition for his area in the team. The Blues are thought to be looking at him due to his young, homegrown status, although much like Raheem Sterling he wouldn’t come cheap.
With Arsenal thought to be interested in bringing Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho to North London this summer, much like they have been in previous years, Wilshere’s future could be even more under threat which may have led to him considering his place at the club.
The Star also believe Wilshere has also asked some of his England teammates, such as Joe Hart and the now ex-Blue James Milner about living in the Manchester area, ahead of a possible move to the north.
If Wilshere was looking to depart The Emirates, City are unlikely to be the only club bidding for him, for despite his injury record he’s still skilled and has high potential – presumably the attributes which make him an attractive to City (that, and the boost it gives to the homegrown quota).
The Star believe if he is to sign, he’s likely to command a £40 million fee, which would make him City’s record signing – that is, if Sterling doesn’t beat him to it.
