In his end-of-season interview with City TV, Khaldoon Al Mubarak has reassured City fans that there’ll be good signings for The Blues this summer, as well as a strengthened challenge going into a Premier League campaign where City will be looking to regain the Premier League title they lost to Chelsea this campaign.
The vast majority of the criticism has been directed towards the squad and recruitment in previous transfer windows, but based on the players City are being linked with so far that criticism may no longer be valid.
Speaking on the club’s official website, Al Mubarak said “we want a squad that has the capability and quality to win the Premier League, compete and win the Champions League and compete and be able to go all the way in two cup competitions in England and I think you will see some changes.”
“You will see some players who have served us well, and maybe it’s time for them to move onto their next challenge, and you will see us in the market bringing high quality individuals, that fit within what we are aspiring to, coming in the summer.”
City have been frequently linked with Paul Pogba and Kevin De Bruyne in recent weeks, among others, and it isn’t out of the realms of imagination that those “high quality individuals” may consist of those two players as well as certain others.
This article will be updated with more from the full interview on City’s website.
