Few expect Sergio Aguero to depart from The Etihad this summer, but thanks to the CIES Football Observatory we’re able to look at how much City would get for him if the Argentinian did depart this summer – a whopping £63 million, which makes him the fifth most valuable player in world football.
The CIES Football Observatory is a list compiled by people in Switzerland, which ranks the 100 most valuable players in the world based on worth. Aguero takes the crown of being top of City’s list, beaten out by Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, which leaves him fifth on the list.
The list also features other City players and targets, although the values of some of City’s supposed transfer targets for the coming window make for less-than-pleasant reading. Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and Kevin De Bruyne all feature, at £59.5 million, £56.8 million, and £30 million respectively. While the figure for Sterling might be higher than mentioned in the press, the other two fees seem to be lower than previously mentioned.
Other City players featuring on the list are David Silva (£30.7 million), Yaya Toure (£27 million), Vincent Kompany (£20.5 million), Wilfried Bony (£19.5 million) and Fernandinho (£17.7 million).
