Inter Milan’s sporting director has confirmed that the club are tracking Stevan Jovetic, amid rumours they could make a move for the Montenegrin after missing out on several other reported targets, such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The attacker had been rumoured to be on the transfer shortlist for the Serie A side for some time now, with interest reinvigorated following failed pursuits of other targets. The Italian side allegedly want the Montenegro international on a loan deal next year, with an option to purchase him the year after.
Meanwhile, Jovetic was said to be happy at City by his agent, although reports in the press suggest he’s keen to move away from the club following a troubling couple of years, which have left many calling for The Blues to cut their losses on the man signed from Fiorentina in 2013.
Talking to the press, Inter sporting director Paulo Ausilio said “there are many players that we are evaluating at this moment.”
“Jovetic is one of them and I don’t know whether Manchester City put him on the market or not.”
Internazionale appear to have lost interest in pursuing Yaya Toure, who had been on their radar for several months and looked set to join back up with Roberto Mancini in Milan. However, the Ivorian has declared that he wants to stay and win more with City, although Jovetic may not have the same wishes and Inter would be as good a destination as any.
