Jose Angel Pozo could be spending next season away from the club, with the Yorkshire Post reporting that Leeds United are keen to bring in the Spaniard as they look to improve on a 15th place finish in this season’s Championship, a season which saw them under the control of three different managers during the course of the campaign.
Pozo has been linked with a move to Championship clubs for some time having made a small reputation for himself with a few appearances, although with his last appearance for the first team coming back in December it’s probably better for him to go out on loan and play a full season of Championship football next year if he wants to break into the City side.
Even established senior squad players such as Stevan Jovetic have found it difficult to break into the side with Sergio Aguero and now Wilfried Bony in the way, and if Pozo can get regular football away from the club it could help him avoid falling into the trap of being a young player who could have made it, and never did.
With former City star Uwe Rosler having recently taken over at Elland Road from Neil Redfearn, City will hope that the German manager can survive under Massimo Cellino, who has already sacked 3 managers in just over a year of ownership, and that he can help the young Spanish starlet to become experienced enough to break into the City side as soon as possible.
