Stevan Jovetic’s agent has hinted that his client could leave Eastlands this summer after a disappointing couple of seasons at City, since his £22 million move from Fiorentina back in the summer of 2013.
Since his move from Serie A to the Premier League, Jovetic has struggled for fitness and playing time ahead of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and now Wilfried Bony, although at the start of this season it did look like he would have a big part to play in the campaign, impressing in the first few games of the season, scoring goals when Aguero was lacking fitness.
Liverpool have been frequently linked with a move for the attacker since last summer, and now more so given their fall in goals this year since the departure of Luis Suarez last year, and with the exits of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert also rumoured in the coming transfer window.
Speaking to the press, Jovetic’s agent Fali Ramadani said “Jovetic is happy at Manchester. But there is still a whole summer ahead of us, which means that there will be many weeks of hard work.”
If City are able to offer assurances to the Montenegrin man that he’ll be an important part of their squad next season, then he’d probably agree to stay but if a club like Liverpool came in and promised a starting place and a reasonable wage, then it could be very difficult to turn them down.
