Joe Hart has admitted that City’s season hasn’t been good enough, although has reiterated how happy he is at Eastlands, with these quotes coming from the Daily Mail. Hart has been one of the most consistent players in the City side in recent weeks, pulling off some stunning saves at times to put City second in the Premier League.
However, Hart probably feels this side could have done better, saying ‘every time we have got into a position to kick on, we haven’t done it. We know we have to be better than that.’
The England goalkeeper also spoke about James Milner and Yaya Toure, both of whom have been heavily linked with moves away from the club in the summer.
“Yaya has been fantastic for us and I think one of the big reasons why we have been so successful recently. He is his own man. What he does this summer is out of my hands. If he wants to stay, we will be happy to keep him. A team with Yaya in it is a stronger team.”
“Personally, I am very close to James. I love having him around — not even to mention that he is a fantastic footballer.”
“He is super-talented and doesn’t get the respect or credit he deserves. I love working with him and if that were to continue, I would be happy — but that is his business, that is his life.”
Thankfully (at least for City fans) Hart almost certainly won’t be leaving the club, with the 28-year-old also saying “I’m very, very happy where I am and I can’t see that changing. As long as Man City want me, I will always be at Man City. I love playing here and I want it to continue. I want to give them everything. When I am in Man City mode I give my whole body and whole life for the club.”
Joe Hart has played nearly 300 games for City in all competitions since he signed in 2006 from Shrewsbury.
