Yaya Toure could be closer to sealing a move to Serie A than ever before, with Javier Zanetti explaining that Inter are at the stage where they hope to complete the deal, rather than they simply want to have him playing for the Italian club next summer.
Internazionale have been linked with a move for the Ivorian for several months now, with Roberto Mancini expressing his desire to sign the midfielder for a second time, having already done that with The Blues back in 2010. There had been rumours City would try and use Yaya as leverage with Juventus to try and get Paul Pogba, but now it seems there was little to those murmurs, and Toure could head to Milan after all.
Talking to Gazetta dello Sport, Zanetti (who has been vice-president of Inter Milan since last June) said “we are at the stage where we hope we can complete it.”
“Yaya would give us that leap in quality.”
Some have said Yaya could go for around £10 million this summer, which may be a fair price given his age. There’s few doubts that his time at City has been more than worth the fee paid to Barcelona for the Ivorian five years ago, and now it may just be a matter of getting us much for him as we can.
