Aguero to have special training regime

Manchester City could finally be at the stage they believe Sergio Aguero’s persistent injury problems are cured, with him now set to have a special pre-season to reinforce their belief according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Argentine star has had a relatively injury-free season – although not entirely so, which makes his current status as the league’s leading scorer even more impressive – yet The Blues are set to give him a specially-tailored pre-season in order to give him the best preparation ahead of the 2015-16 season, and in order to give City the chance to get the best out of him next year.

However, his specially-designed programme will still involve him travelling to North America for friendlies later in May, before he jets off to the Copa America with his country. Following that – whatever the outcome – he almost certainly won’t be asked to take part in the International Champions Cup in Australia, in favour of him preparing for the new season. However, players like Zabaleta who are also involved in the Copa America could still take part, depending on their nation’s progress. Fernandinho and Demichelis are also involved.

Everyone involved with City at some level – from fan to boardroom – will be hoping that this new programme works for Sergio and we can have a full season of his spectacular self as we bid to take the title back from Chelsea.
