The Valencia owner Peter Lim could try to do business with Manchester City once again this summer, with David Silva reportedly top of his shopping list according to Spanish paper AS.
The paper believes that the La Liga club may want to capitalise on City’s poor season and rumours of a revamp of the City squad and re-sign the star midfielder who joined City from Valencia back in 2010, although it could take some effort to prise the 29-year-old away from Eastlands after he’s been one of the most important players in the past half-decade and a big part of the five trophies won in that time.
Peter Lim reportedly believes the good working relationship that Valencia have with City after signing two players (Negredo and Zuculini) on loan from The Blues this season could help the eastern Spanish team to sign Silva, bringing him back to the Mestalla where he is still well-liked despite departing in 2010.
Silva did only sign a five-year contract extension last summer, which could make it more difficult for any team that wants to sign him, with The Blues under no pressure to sell a player who’s been a great success at the club.
Silva has played nearly 220 games since he joined for £26 million in the summer of 2010, scoring 38 goals – 11 of them this season.
