Reports: Gaya Targetted By City

According to Spanish newspaper AS, City are one of the clubs who could be willing to activate the buyout clause for Valencia defender Jose Luis Gaya this summer, alongside Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old has impressed for the team that currently sit third in La Liga, which has attracted interest both at home and abroad. With his buyout clause at just £13 million, he could prove a bargain to whichever team manages to seal his signature, if he is indeed to leave Valencia.

There’s been a lot of speculation in recent months that’s linked various left-backs with a move to City, and Gaya could be significantly cheaper than some of the other names that have been mentioned, such as Ricardo Rodriguez or Layvin Kurzawa. And with Aleksandar Kolarov reportedly seeking a move away from The Blues in the coming window, it could be time to invest in a new full-back, one who could be here for years to come.

The youngster, who’s played for Spain from under-17 to under-21 level (amassing a cumulative 17 caps) has played 29 games in all competitions for Valencia this season, scoring twice.
