City could now be on the trail of another Spanish youngster from Malaga according to the Mail, with The Blues reported to be one of the clubs interested in signing Kuki – otherwise known as Jose Luis Zalazar – who is just 16 but is predicted to have a bright future.
This news comes 16 months after City last signed a young hot Spanish prospect, which came in the form of Brahim Abdelkader Diaz, who was just 14 at the time. That time, City had to fight off interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona, and if they are to repeat their feat and sign another youngster from Malaga they could well have to best Chelsea and Liverpool in a battle for his signature.
The player, who is a utilisable striker, has already established himself as a presence with potential in Malaga, having signed his first professional contract last year with a buyout clause of £4.4 million (which should rise to £8.8 million when he plays his first senior game). He has also appeared for Malaga in friendlies, and for the Spanish under-17 side – however, he would also be eligible for the Uruguayan team, thanks to his father (also called Jose) who was born in Montevideo and played for Uruguay 29 times.
