Report: Milan and Juve want Pozo

José Angel Pozo could be on his way out of the club in the summer, with Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reporting AC Milan and Juventus both want to take him to Serie A after seeing his potential in his limited appearances in City’s senior side so far this season.

Pozo has made a name for himself this season, having been in and around the senior squad for much of the season, especially when City had several attacking absentees towards the end of 2014. He made his senior debut in the 7-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday in September and scored after coming on as a substitute, before going on to be on the bench in several more games during the season.

However, with the new signing of Wilfried Bony and the return to fitness of Agüero, Džeko and Jovetić has seen him lose his place in the squad, although he has continued to sometimes train with the senior squad.

Much of his reputation has been made with the youth and reserve sides, where he has impressed since he signed from Real Madrid in 2012, aged just 16.

However, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2016, a number of clubs are looking at the young Spaniard, with his potential clear to see. As well as Milan and Juventus, Cadena Ser also cite Borussia Dortmund and Malaga as possible destinations if he leaves in 18 months.

However, he was quick to play down speculation in an interview with the very same radio station earlier this week, saying “I’m doing very well at City. I think I made the right decision to come over here and I’m very happy here. I’m very, very pleased. It’s been three years or so and I’m already adapted.”

“I manage very well in England. It’s been hard but I have it all under control. I live alone and I have adapted very well. I’m studying to improve my English and I want to continue doing something here.”

Whilst it may not yet be an urgent situation, City should probably look at giving the 18-year-old a new contract if they have plans that include him and they want to keep him out of the clutches of some of Europe’s top sides.
