After it looked like John Guidetti could be interested in making his loan move to Celtic a permanent deal in the summer, talkSPORT believe he could now be interested in moving to Lazio instead, when his contract at the Etihad expires at the end of the season.
Guidetti is free to move where he chooses in the summer when his Blues contract expires, and it looked like he could be set to stay in Scotland after it was rumoured there were talks between City and Celtic about making the deal in January rather than waiting until the summer for Celtic to try and seal the permanent signature of the Swede, but nothing came of that rumour, and now his latest comments have hinted he could prefer to move to Serie A.
Talking to press, Guidetti said “At the end of the season I will be free, with no contract. But now I’m a player at Celtic, it is impossible to say now where I’ll end up.”
He also revealed a move to Lazio would please his family, saying “I’ve never had an offer from Lazio but my relatives would be happy. Some are still living in Italy and go to support Lazio.”
After being highly-rated by City in the early years of his spell after he joined from Brommapojkarna in 2008, and it looked like he would be able to make something of that potential after a very successful loan spell at Feyenoord in 2011-12. However, a rough injury kept him out for a prolonged period of time and prevented him kicking on at City, which is undoubtedly a big disappointment.
