City have been linked with a move for West Ham United’s Aaron Cresswell as a solution for the left-back problem that has plagued them for some time now, say the Daily Mirror.
Cresswell has only been in the Premier League since the summer after he joined The Hammers in a £4 million deal from Ipswich, but has impressed and could soon be on the receiving end of a call from Roy Hodgson.
With City without a reliable, obvious, first-choice at left-back, that’s been highlighted as one of the key areas for improvement in the summer, with names like Layvin Kurzawa, Ricardo Rodriguez and more being thrown about.
It looks like City could be more interested in going for Cresswell however, with the 25-year-old counting as a homegrown player – something very important for City. He also has a fair few years left as a player, and could help to solve the ‘ageing squad’ problem.
Cresswell has made 29 appearances in all competitions for West Ham this season, scoring one goal.
