Everton could soon move for Willy Caballero, according to the Daily Star, after Tim Howard was linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the summer, perhaps back to his home country and Major League Soccer.
Everton have struggled for form for a number of reasons this season, and the Star are reporting Roberto Martinez feels Caballero is one of the ways Everton could improve next summer, with the Argentine goalkeeper not getting much game-time in comparison to Joe Hart.
Martinez is also thought to not be the biggest fan of Joel Robles – Everton’s second keeper, who won the FA Cup against City with Wigan in 2013 – and for that reason is keeping tabs on City’s understudy, who only came to Eastlands last summer.
Tim Howard has also been linked with a move back to America, with New York City FC, City’s sister club, thought to be one of those interested in signing the goalkeeper who has played over 100 games for his country. The former Manchester United man of course spent much of his early career with NYCFC’s rivals New York Red Bulls, when they were still under the name MetroStars.
Willy Caballero has played 7 games in all competitions for City this season, since he signed for £5 million from Malaga last July.
