Edin Džeko has once again been linked with a move away from City this summer, with the Express reporting Fenerbahce could be about to make a £12 million move for the striker in the final hours of the transfer window. This is the latest in a number of recent links away from Eastlands, including one linking him to Stoke City earlier in this window.
Džeko has seen himself drop further and further out of favour with the additions of more strikers in the last couple of seasons, as well as drop-off in his own form this season – a drop-off that’s seen him score just 4 this season.
Now, as City get linked with more, younger, strikers in the summer, it looks like Edin Džeko and possibly Stevan Jovetić could be leaving the club soon, with Fenerbahce reportedly looking at taking the Bosnian to Turkey.
Džeko has played a big part in both of City’s title wins since he arrived, scoring 14 and 16 goals in 2011-12 and 2013-14 respectively. However, his form has often been patchy since he arrived from Wolfsburg for £27 million in January 2011, and City could be looking at upgrading on the 28-year-old Bosnian.
Given that there’s so little time left of the January transfer window, a move is probably unlikely, due to how little chance City have of bringing another first-team striker in before the deadline closes. In the summer though, that could be a very different story if there is still this reported interest in the Bosnian.
Edin Džeko has scored 69 goals in 172 games since January 2011.

UPDATE: According to the Telegraph, City have rejected an enquiry about Edin from Fenerbahce, and will not let him leave this January.
