Links to some of the players City have been linked with in recent weeks have continued to circle on Thursday, with Kevin De Bruyne of Wolfsburg, Paul Pogba of Juventus and even Falcao once again being linked with a move to The Blues in the summer, along with being linked to a multitude of other clubs.
Kevin De Bruyne was linked with a move back to England this January or in the summer after impressing with Wolfsburg since he signed for them permanently. The Belgian disappointed last time he was here with Chelsea, and now it looks like he could be on his way back, for anything up to £30 million. However, City’s hopes of bringing him to The Etihad have been hit after The Express reported his agent has told the press he will not be leaving the Bundesliga this January, meaning clubs will either have to wait until the summer or look elsewhere.
Meanwhile, it looks like City could be about to miss out on Paul Pogba as well, with RMC Sport reporting PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has recently had conversations with Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, and PSG are reportedly willing to pay over £55 million to land the French midfielder.
On a contrasting note, City are reportedly looking into signing Colombian striker Radamel Falcao in the summer, but only if Manchester United decide not to take the option to buy him on a permanent deal for £44 million, according to the Independent. City are believed to be one of several clubs looking into signing the Colombian if he doesn’t join United, with Arsenal and Liverpool also on that list. Given how close he was to joining City in the summer, his age, and where he’s spent the last few months playing football, there may be reason to believe Falcao isn’t at the top of most City fans’ shopping lists this summer.
