Recent reports suggest that The Blues are at the forefront of the chase for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony, and could table a January bid.
Currently City have just one fit recognised striker in Stevan Jovetic, and even he is struggling to get a run of games under his belt. With City enduring a tough time in regards to injuries in attack, Pellegrini is expected to move for a striker, and it seems as though Bony is top of his wish-list.
The Ivorian, like City’s Yaya Toure, is away for a prolonged period at the African Cup of Nations, yet could still prove a useful asset for Manuel Pellegrini to utilise.
Bony is the Premier League’s top scorer in 2014, with an impressive total of 18 goals, two more than Sergio Aguero. A number of outlets such as the Daily Mirror are reporting that City are preparing a £25m move for the former Vitesse striker.
City are the favourites to sign the 26-year old but his excellent form is likely to mean a number of clubs will be in the race for his signature.
Bony has only been in the Premier League for around 18 months, and even with his involvement in the AFCON, it appears that a potential deal is not out of question.
More to come…
Do you think Bony is the best option for Manuel Pellegrini? Is he good enough to make the step up to a Premier League-winning side?
