Enzo Maresca has some big selection decisions to make as City look to maintain their perfect Premier League start against Coventry this afternoon.
Deadline Day arrivals Enzo Fernández, Iliman Ndiaye and Allan Elias are all available for City, while Matheus Nunes is fit again after missing the 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.
Jérémy Doku remains out, leaving Maresca with an otherwise strong group to choose from.
So does Fernández go straight in?
Man City predicted XI v Coventry
Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma
Donnarumma should continue as he searches for his first Premier League clean sheet of the season.
Defence: Abdukodir Khusanov, Rúben Dias, Marc Guéhi, Joško Gvardiol
Nunes’ return gives Maresca another option at right-back, but we’re backing Khusanov to retain his place after starting there at Palace. Dias and Guéhi should continue centrally, with Gvardiol on the left.
Midfield: Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernández
This is the hardest area to predict. Ayyoub Bouaddi made his City debut from the bench at Palace and must be getting close to a first start following his £86million summer move.
But Maresca has confirmed Fernández is ready despite playing only 25 minutes for Chelsea this season, and we’re backing the £125million Deadline Day arrival to come straight in alongside Anderson.
It would be no surprise, though, if Maresca opted for Bouaddi and introduced Fernández later.
Attacking midfield: Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden
Ndiaye is another genuine contender after his move from Everton, but we’re expecting Maresca to resist changing too much at once.
Cherki scored twice at Palace and should retain his place, with Semenyo and Foden completing the three behind Haaland. Ndiaye could be a particularly dangerous option from the bench.
Striker: Erling Haaland
Two goals at Palace and four already this season. Haaland starts. Obvs.
Our predicted City XI
Donnarumma; Khusanov, Dias, Guéhi, Gvardiol; Anderson, Fernández; Semenyo, Cherki, Foden; Haaland.
Fernández or Bouaddi feels like the biggest call, while Ndiaye gives Maresca another decision further forward.
We’re backing Fernández to make his debut from the start, with Ndiaye among some formidable options from the bench.
