Haaland leads City’s European challenge

City’s dependence on Haaland for goals has been particularly striking through the opening two fixtures. He scored both at Porto and followed that with another double against PSG, meaning no other City player has yet found the net in Europe this season.

The PSG game also brought another landmark for the Norwegian. His second goal took him to 61 in 60 Champions League appearances across his spells with RB Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and City.

Haaland has required only 60 appearances to reach that total and has already scored 38 Champions League goals for City.

There have been notable contributions elsewhere. Marc Guehi has recovered 18 balls through the opening two matches, while Donnarumma has played every minute in goal.

City’s overall record is finely balanced after two games: one victory, one defeat, four goals scored, four conceded and one clean sheet.

The next opportunity to improve those numbers comes against AEK Athens at the Etihad before a demanding sequence against Leipzig, Napoli and Barcelona.

This tracker will be updated after every Champions League fixture to reflect City’s latest results, remaining schedule and player statistics.
