- Man City face Crystal Palace tonight
- Win required to remain in title race
- Guehi urges teammates not to give up
Marc Guehi has called on his teammates to keep going and refuse to give up on the Premier League ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace.
With three games to go, City trail league leaders Arsenal by five points, with one game in hand over the Gunners.
Last week’d 3-3 draw at Everton cost Pep Guardiola’s team dearly, and handed momentum back to Arsenal. Arteta’s side will win the title if they win their final two games.
However, Guehi argues that City cannot give up on the title just yet, and must continue to push for results to keep their hopes alive.
Marc Guehi says Man City ‘must keep pushing’
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s fixture against Crystal Palace, Guehi told the Man City website that he and his teammates ‘must keep pushing’ until the end of the season.
He said: “I didn’t watch the [Arsenal] game. No thoughts really. It’s over to us to try and keep it alive and take it to the last stage again.”

“Everyone’s different, everyone has their own way of dealing with things. I don’t really want to focus too much on what other people are doing. The most important thing we can do is focus on ourselves.
“Especially a football club like this, I think everyone is [putting pressure on themselves] the good thing is we’ve all got that same mentality.
“That’s the only way you can go on and achieve things and improve. It’s really good that everyone’s demanding of themselves as well as each other.”
Guehi relishing Crystal Palace reunion
Wednesday’s game against Palace will also be the first time Guehi has faced his former club since arriving at the Etihad.
The ex-Eagles skipper said he is looking forward to seeing former teammates and Palace staff, and stressed that the club remains very special to him.
“It’s nice, it’ll be nice to see old team-mates and old staff members from the club that gave me so much,” Guéhi added. I’m truly grateful to them and wouldn’t be here without them, it’s a game of a lot of significance for me.”
Man City defensive pairing has become incredibly important
Since making the switch to the North West, Guehi has seamlessly slotted into the squad at the Etihad. Guardiola recently praised Guehi, who has built an impressive partnership with Abdukodir Khusanov
The duo have started the majority of City’s games together since the new year, and have been a key reason behind the Carabao Cup winners’ return to form.
Guehi said: “It’s been great playing with him. He’s a top player, an even better guy. I’ve been learning a lot from every single person I’ve played with, Ruben [Dias] and Nathan [Ake] that I played with at the weekend, it’s been a joy to play with them, and hopefully we can keep the stability at the back.”
