Manchester City player ratings vs Everton: Jeremy Doku scores 10/10 after late rescue mission

Share
  • Man City drew 3-3 at Everton
  • City conceded three after the break
  • Doku’s late equaliser rescued a draw

Here are tonight’s player ratings after Manchester City threw away a half-time lead to draw 3-3 at Everton and hand momentum back to Arsenal in the Premier League title race.

Jeremy Doku had given City the lead before the break, but a dreadful second half looked to have gifted Everton victory. However, Erling Haaland pulled one back, before Doku helped the Citizens earn a point in the dying seconds.

Manchester City player ratings vs Everton

Gianluigi Donnarumma – 7.5

Made some huge stops to deny Everton, including a vital intervention to prevent a tap-in for Beto. Little he could do about any of the goals he conceded.

Matheus Nunes – 6.5

A largely anonymous display. Nunes was far from City’s worst player, but his lack of impact on the game will be concerning for Guardiola.

Abdukodir Khusanov – 5

Rock-solid in the first half, with big blocks and tackles, winning duels and dominating at the back. Completely different when Everton got on top. The youngster looked nervous at times and gave away the ball shortly before Jake O’Brien’s goal.

Marc Guehi – 3

Made some important tackles, but his terrible back-pass gifted Everton their equaliser and ultimately started City’s second-half collapse.

Nico O’Reilly – 6.5

A few bright moments, but not his usual self and made minimal impact on the game. Didn’t play badly, but it was a forgettable night for the youngster.

Nico Gonzalez – 5.5

Sloppy in possession and struggled to impose himself in midfield. Was replaced in the second half by Mateo Kovacic, having failed to match his FA Cup semi-final heroics.

Bernardo Silva – 6

Made some good driving runs through the middle but was well below par by his own high standards. Taken off in the closing stages, having been disappointing all evening.

Antoine Semenyo – 7

Excellent feet to fashion multiple chances for himself and others. A constant threat and a nright spark in an otherwise poor City performance.

Rayan Cherki – 5

A disappointing night by the Frenchman’s standards. Gave the ball away repeatedly and blasted the ball into row Z on the few occasions he did get a shooting opportunity.

Jeremy Doku – 10

Single-handedly saved Man City’s title hopes with two stunning goals. A massive problem for Everton all night and comfortable the best player in a City shirt.

Erling Haaland – 7.5

Anonymous in the first half, before making a few good runs and drawing fouls after the break. Well-taken finish to reduce the arrears for City, but Haaland will be disappointed at how he struggled to make an impact. Also, he could have done better when defending the corner which saw O’Brien get his goal.

Substitutes:

Omar Marmoush – N/A

Came on in the final minutes and had little time to have any noticeable input. Will hope for more minutes in his next appearance.

Mateo Kovacic – 4

Outpaced and outmuscled for Everton’s third goal, which cost City the win and could cost them the title. Then fired over from the edge of the box when passing was the better option.

Phil Foden – 6

Had a few moments during his second-half cameo, but did not have the desired impact when he came off the bench.
