- Rival fans will come together
- Banner to be displayed
- Ticket price and scheduling protest
Manchester City’s travelling supporters are set to join forces with the Evertonian faithful for a protest ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash.
Most of tonight’s focus is on the pitch, with Manchester City needing a victory to keep Arsenal on their toes.
Everton could also use the three points, as they continue to push for European football next season.
However, there will be plenty going on outside the Hill Dickinson Stadium too, as the result of a joint protest.
Man City and Everton fans to display shared banner
The recently formed Citizens Trust have shared details of what will be going on before Man City and Everton do battle in Merseyside.
We'll be standing in solidarity with Evertonians before kickoff today, against their recent ticket price rises & TV rescheduling 🤝 @EFC_FanAdvisory

Supporters need to stick together. Blues, join us if you can. Meet at 6:30pm by the @SFoodbanks spot opposite the ticket office pic.twitter.com/DsxWKUTtou
Both sets of supporters will gather opposite the ticket office to hold a ‘stop exploiting loyalty’ banner, in relation to increasing ticket prices and TV scheduling.
These are issues currently being experienced by Everton’s followers, but the Sky Blues’ followers are keen to warn their own club before they make any future decisions.
Man City decided against raising season ticket prices
Toffees fans are being made to empty their pockets, and yet their team rarely does much to justify ticket prices going up.
The club have seen limited success in recent years, and have celebrated surviving relegation more than actually winning silverware.
Whereas Man City have delivered on the park, giving their fans much better value for their hard-earned money.
Additionally, City decided to freeze season ticket prizes last month, which was definitely the correct call, especially with a higher capacity to fill at the Etihad Stadium.
Football fans need to stick together
It is admirable for Man City fans to get involved in tonight’s protest, as they are showing that some things are bigger than rivalries.
The cost of following a football club has become so high these days, from buying match tickets to merchandise.
Going to a match alone is expensive enough, but even more so for families wanting to bring their children along.
This is a sport for everyone, and the Man City fans taking a stand tonight are doing their club proud by their actions.
