Antoine Semenyo has revealed why he decided to make the switch from Bournemouth to Manchester City in January.

Manchester City are into the FA Cup semi-finals after advancing past Liverpool and Antoine Semenyo had a part to play.

The 26-year-old managed to land on the scoresheet in the second half, after a brilliant finish which gave Giorgi Mamardashvili no chance of making a save.

As a result of this victory, City are now two wins away from winning a second trophy this season, having already lifted the Carabao Cup.

Antoine Semenyo joined Man City to compete for every trophy

Semenyo was unable to experience the sweet taste of a major success at Bournemouth, but he has already won one competition with Man City.

Despite this, the Ghanaian is eager to partake in more successes. In fact, this is exactly why he decided to make the Etihad Stadium his home in the first place.

When asked if a double or even a treble was realistic for the Citizens, Semenyo told beIN Sports: “That’s why I signed for Man City.

“I want to be competing for all trophies and it’s unfortunate we’re not in the Champions League, but at least we’ve got the Premier League and FA Cup to compete for. Hopefully we win.”

The treble is still on for Man City

Although Semenyo has not made any predictions about how many trophies City will win, he is clearly hoping for the best possible outcome.

Ultimately a treble seems unlikely, but it is not out of the question, at least for now. The FA Cup is certainly winnable, especially as Man City showed themselves to be capable of beating the very best in the Carabao Cup.

Then there is the Premier League, which Arsenal have yet secured. If City can keep winning, including against the Gunners later this month, there is a chance to do something spectacular.

The odds are not exactly in the Sky Blues’ favour, but Semenyo and his teammates have shown a lot of fighting spirit in their past two matches. Certainly, they are going to give the domestic treble a very good go.
