Bernardo Silva’s preferred destination becomes clear as agent starts working on a move
  • Bernardo Silva’s contract expires on June 30 this year
  • Spain remains the midfielder’s preferred destination
  • Silva’s agent has already opened talks

Bernardo Silva’s future at Manchester City remains uncertain, as the player’s agent has already sent proposals to his priority club.

There had been talks about a return to his boyhood club, Benfica however, both the club and the player have denied it.

Silva appears to have other plans, though. Despite his age, a few clubs in Europe are still keen to sign the player.

Both Juventus and Galatasaray have shown continued interest in Silva. However, there is one club that has been on the player’s mind for years now.

Silva’s agent starts talks with FC Barcelona

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes has already begun talks with FC Barcelona for a potential transfer this summer.

The media outlet also claims that the Blaugrana remain the midfielder’s preference despite the offers on the table.

The midfielder is doing everything in his power to make a move to Barcelona as his contract expires on June 30 this summer.

Agent Mendes will play an important role, given his relationship with FC Barcelona’s management and president Joan Laporta.

Silva will turn 32 this August, but the Portuguese agent still believes that his client can make an impact under Hansi Flick.

Man City are already prepared for Bernardo Silva transfer

Pep Guardiola may already have alternatives if the 31-year-old midfielder leaves this summer, as City had a pretty productive transfer season of their own last year.

Rayan Cherki was signed from Lyon, and Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan. Both midfielders have fit well in Guardiola’s system.

Silva is still going strong with three goals and five assists this season. However, with his time at the club coming to an end, Cherki and Reijnders will take the reins from here.
