Paul Merson has made a Premier League prediction this weekend which will not go down well with Manchester City supporters.
Manchester City need three points this Saturday in order to keep the pressure on Arsenal, but Leeds are a team who have found some form in recent weeks.
Daniel Farke’s team bounced back from a heavy defeat to Arsenal and are now unbeaten in their past four games across all competitions.
During this period, Leeds have taken points off Chelsea and Aston Villa, so Man City should not expect a straightforward victory.
Paul Merson predicts Manchester City to be held to a draw by Leeds
Despite Leeds finding form, Manchester City are still the favorites to get the win at Elland Road, as they too have been getting results in recent weeks.
However, Paul Merson has predicted a draw between the two teams in a declaration which he himself admits may contain some personal bias.
He told Sportskeeda: “This is the defining weekend. Leeds have been doing well. They got a good result against Aston Villa, of course, unlucky to concede that goal in the end. But a point away from home at Villa Park isn’t bad at all.
“Leeds have troubled many of the big boys this season. I expect them to cause City problems. I’m going for a draw in this very difficult game for Manchester City.”
Merson then admitted: “It’s a bit of madness in me to go for a draw here, but it’s more out of hope really. There’s still something missing with City. Even against Newcastle, they went ahead and instead of running away with the game, they actually kept their opponents in the game.
“Nico O’Reilly scored two great goals against Newcastle. But I wouldn’t say he’s a shoo-in to make the midfield for the England squad at the World Cup. He’s a versatile player so maybe he’s got a chance at left-back.”

Merson expects Arsenal to defeat Chelsea
It will come as no surprise to discover that Merson has predicted Arsenal to triumph in this weekend’s London derby, a win which would lift them seven points above Man City.
The player-turned-pundit obviously holds the club close to his heart, having spent 12 years of his career at Highbury.
In fairness, his predictions are not massively far-fetched, but City should really be doing enough to become the first team to inflict a defeat on Leeds this month.
