Antoine Semenyo makes admission about playing at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola

Antoine Semenyo was the match winner for Manchester City against Leeds, but he has not found adapting to life at the Etihad as easy as he has made it look.

Manchester City have secured a 1-0 victory over Leeds and Antoine Semenyo is the player who broke the deadlock.

Both teams had chances during the match, but the winger was the only one who found the net throughout an intense 90 minutes.

Erling Haaland may have been absent, but Pep Guardiola will be delighted by what he saw from the 26-year-old.

However, while Semenyo was on target tonight, he has not been afforded much time to transition to life on the blue side of Manchester.

Antoine Semenyo reveals the challenges he has faced at Man City

Saturday was the perfect night for Semenyo, as he has continued to show exactly why City were willing to spend £65m to secure his signature.

The ex-Bournemouth star has already scored seven goals in four appearances, which means he averages 0.57 goals per game.

Despite making such a quick start, Semenyo insists he has had to adapt to playing in a new system, which has included covering all areas of the pitch.

Following Manchester City’s most recent victory, Semenyo said: “It’s been tough, it hasn’t been easy.

“I think how he wants me to be is high in attacking positions, be out wide – and once we have the ball defensively, be narrow. It’s obviously not easy, it’s a hard graft, but I’m quite versatile in that sense.”

Semenyo is third in the Premier League golden boot race

With Semenyo adding a 14th goal to his Premier League tally this season, he is now just eight scores behind Haaland, who is leading the way in the race for the golden boot.

And despite having to play a more varied role at Man City, the attacker still looks just as dangerous in front of goal.

Semenyo’s goal against Leeds ended up being so important and he could have a few more big moments between now and the end of the season.
